About the role

Ballarat Volkswagen is seeking a talented Service Advisor / Parts Advisor to join our dynamic service team. This is a full-time position based in Mitchell Park Ballarat. As a Service Advisor / Parts Advisor, you will be the crucial link between our valued customers and our technical service team, ensuring that every vehicle receives the highest standard of care and attention. You will play an essential role in maintaining customer satisfaction, building long-term relationships, and driving the success of our service department. Key responsibilities

1. Greeting customers in a warm and professional manner, understanding their service requirements and vehicle concerns.

2. Creating accurate service and parts work orders that clearly document customer requests and vehicle diagnostics.

3. Providing customers with transparent cost estimates and explaining recommended repairs in an accessible way.

4. Liaising between customers and technicians to ensure all service queries are addressed promptly and effectively.

5. Scheduling service appointments and managing the daily flow of vehicles through the service and parts department.

6. Maintaining comprehensive service records and vehicle history documentation.

7. Assisting customers with parts queries. Identifying parts and providing pricing and lead time information.

8. Following up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and address any additional concerns.

9. Processing invoices and managing service and parts payments through our point-of-sale system.

10. Promoting Ballarat Volkswagen's service and parts packages, parts availability and additional services to customers.

11. Keeping up to date with current Volkswagen models, offerings and technical information.

What we're looking for

1. Prior experience in a customer-facing automotive role is preferred.

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers.

3. Excellent organizational abilities with a capacity to manage multiple customer enquiries simultaneously.

4. Proficiency with automotive management software and computer systems.

5. A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating positive experiences.

6. Sound knowledge of vehicle maintenance, servicing procedures and common automotive repairs.

7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also managing own workload independently.

8. Professional presentation and a customer-focused attitude.

9. Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

10. Current valid driver's licence is essential.

11. Certification in automotive service or relevant qualifications is preferred but not essential for the right candidate.
