Retail Manager – Ballarat & Central Highlands

Are you an experienced retail leader who enjoys driving sales, building strong teams, and delivering outstanding customer experiences?

Bolton’s Office National is seeking a motivated and commercially focused Retail Manager to lead our Ballarat & Central Highlands store. This is a full-time opportunity to take ownership of a dynamic, multi-category retail environment covering office supplies, workwear, safety supplies, furniture, print, and business essentials.

This role is ideal for a hands-on manager who can balance strong store presentation, team leadership, customer service, stock control, and sales performance.

About the Role

As Retail Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the store. You will lead the retail team, support our B2B customer base, maintain high operational standards, and help drive continued growth across the region.

You will play a key role in creating a positive team culture, ensuring customers receive excellent service, and keeping the store running efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and motivate the retail team to deliver strong sales and service outcomes

  • Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing routines

  • Drive sales through effective merchandising, promotions and customer engagement

  • Maintain high standards of store presentation, cleanliness and housekeeping

  • Manage stock control, inventory accuracy, replenishment and stock audits

  • Support B2B customers and work closely with the external sales team

  • Recruit, train and develop team members

  • Monitor staff performance and provide regular feedback

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, WHS requirements and store procedures

  • Manage POS operations, till reconciliation and daily operational reporting

  • Identify opportunities to improve store performance and customer experience

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a capable and energetic retail leader with:

  • Previous experience as a Retail Manager or Assistant Manager

  • Strong leadership and team development skills

  • A proven ability to achieve sales targets and improve store performance

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Sound knowledge of retail operations, stock control and POS systems

  • Experience working with B2B customers or trade accounts

  • Strong organisational and time management ability

  • A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example

  • Confidence working in a fast-paced retail environment

  • A proactive attitude and strong problem-solving skills
