We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Graduate or First-Year Lawyer to join our personal injury team in Ballarat. This is an excellent opportunity to build your legal career with hands-on experience, strong mentoring, and meaningful work that helps people navigate challenging circumstances.

Working closely with experienced practitioners, you will gain exposure to a broad range of personal injury matters while developing your technical skills, client relationship abilities, and advocacy experience.

About the Role

You will assist in managing a varied caseload of personal injury matters, including:

  • Workplace injury claims

  • Motor vehicle accident claims

  • Public liability matters

  • TAC and WorkCover claims

  • Common law personal injury claims

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with file management from intake through to resolution

  • Drafting correspondence, court documents, and legal submissions

  • Conducting legal research and preparing advice

  • Liaising with clients, barristers, medical practitioners, insurers, and other stakeholders

  • Attending client meetings, mediations, and court appearances as appropriate

  • Supporting senior lawyers with litigation and dispute resolution matters

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Admitted to practice in Victoria or eligible for admission in the near future

  • A recent law graduate or lawyer with up to 12 months' post-admission experience

  • Passionate about personal injury law and helping clients achieve positive outcomes

  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Professional, empathetic, and client-focused
