Established in 1979 by the Ballarat Aboriginal community in the Ballarat district, BADAC’s vision is to be the strongest voice and presence in the Ballarat area, supporting and respecting their people, enhancing our community, growing their culture and honouring their heritage. BADAC is the Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisation (ACCO) for the Ballarat and District area, covering 4 local government areas (LGAs). We currently have an opportunity for a Medical Clinic Driver (Patient Transport Driver) who is passionate to make a difference on a Full Time Ongoing Basis working 38 hours per week.
Reporting to the Medical Team-Leader, the role of the Medical Clinic Driver is:
Transport clients to and from BADAC Medical for their allocated appointment time in a timely and efficient manner.
Transport, assist and accompany clients (if required) for external medically related appointments (which may include Melbourne).
Transport patients to nominated pharmacy for collection of medications. This may include delivering scripts, and collecting medication (as per clinic requirements and/or direction of Reception Team-Leader or Practice-Manager).
Delivery of pathology or collection of other medical supplies (as per clinic requirements and/or direction of Reception Team-Leader or Practice-Manager).
Delivery of items to patients address (as per clinic requirements and/or direction of Reception Team Leader or Practice-Manager).
Clinical Driver will need to carry work mobile phone at all times.
Individual client support during transport and appointments.
Notify of any maintenance issues to Fleet Co-ordinator.
Clinical Driver’s manner must be respectful and professional at all times.
Update SARS reporting (monthly).
Observe the policies & procedures set by BADAC including but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety and Client Confidentiality
Undertake other additional duties (which includes and not limited to: assisting reception, general clean of waiting room) as direction of Reception Team-Leader or Practice-Manager.
To be considered and successful in this application, you will possess the following:
Current Victorian Drivers licence (unrestricted).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
An understanding of Aboriginal culture or demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and complex needs.
Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
