We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse with a positive, can-do attitude. We have a professional and supportive small clinical team, working closely with two Doctors who specialise in skin cancer. We like to have fun, whilst having lots of empathy for our patients as well as participating in fundraisers during the year.
About Us:
The Ballarat Surgicentre is an accredited Private Day Hospital specialising in Skin Cancer excision and Mohs (microscopically controlled) surgeries.
The Ballarat Skin Cancer Centre is a clinic located within the Ballarat Surgicentre and focuses on the detection, diagnosis, treatment, and management of Skin Cancers.
The Role:
The role is diverse, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in all areas of the facility.
Whilst working within the Ballarat Surgicentre, you will be rostered to work in all areas of the Day Hospital, including:
· Admissions
· Discharges
· Theatre – assisting the doctor with surgery (local anaesthetic only)
· Recovery
· CSSD – experience not required, onsite training provided
Whilst working within the Ballarat Skin Cancer Centre, you will be rostered in:
· Outpatients Nurses Clinic - Suture removal; Dressings/wound reviews; Patient education; Results; and Post-Operative follow up phone calls
· Pre-Admissions
· Medical Consulting Suites – Assisting the Doctor with clinical support
Experience is not essential. We provide an extensive Orientation and Induction program that includes 4 weeks of 'buddied' shifts. Ongoing training, mentoring and support is provided, as well as regular catch up's scheduled with the Director of Nursing.
The role will be an ongoing Casual Position with rostered shifts. The rosters are completed 4-6 weeks in advance, allowing for great work life balance. The successful candidate will be rostered approximately 1-2 shifts per week, with an expectation of additional leave cover.
The shifts can vary, the earliest shift commences at 8 AM and the latest finishes at 6 PM, Monday to Friday. No weekends or public holidays. No night shifts.
Hourly Rate: Negotiable, based on experience.

Essential Criteria
Are you:
A Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA, as well as Professional Indemnity Insurance?
Up to date with your vaccinations for Healthcare Workers?
A committed, passionate worker who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and remains calm under pressure?
Outgoing, happy and supportive of your teammates?
Proactive and like to get ahead with your education and training modules?
Self-motivated, organised and take pride in your work?
